Things I Love

My First Seminary Visit

Singing nuns sound beautiful, and I learned last week, that so do singing seminarians.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Immaculate Conception Seminary at Seton Hall University, where a friend of mine is studying. He got permission for me to join them for evening prayer, dinner, and then we went to a praise and worship event at the campus’ chapel–which by the way, is BEAUTIFUL! It’s a small chapel, but it is stunning.

When I arrived at evening prayer, there was such a strong sense of community. You could just see the love of Christ that these young men have, and how serious they are about their discernment. The men were mostly pretty young, but I saw a few who were a little bit on the older side. It just proved that men can feel this calling at any age.

I also had the opportunity to eat dinner with them, getting a chance to know a bit about them and their visions for the future of the Church.

I will definitely be keeping these young men in my prayers and look forward to going to Masses that they celebrate!

The chapel of the Immaculate Conception. Separate from the seminary but on campus where we went to the praise and worship, adoration service. It was beautiful!
