When it comes to make-up, I am pretty basic. Sometimes I like to play with my eyes but other than that, my routine takes about five minutes. I use primer, but I don’t use a highlighter, nor do I contour. But I am learning how to apply the things that I do use.
I’m also the type to use the same make-up over and over again. If I find a foundation I like, I stick with it. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it, right?
With that said, here is what I keep in my bag:
Primer: I have been using the L’Oréal Paris Makeup Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Tinted Moisturizer Face Makeup, Light, 1 fl. oz.
in shade “810 Fair” for as long as I can remember. I’m getting to the end of it, so I’ll have to buy a new tube soon. But this thing is magical. I put it on first so I can let it settle into my face, and it really helps my skin tone to even out before I put on foundation.
has been my to-go for a few months now. I use shade 115 Ivory. A little goes a long way with this. I shake it and dip my finger into the cap, and then apply it all over my face. Probably not the right way to apply it, but I’m not a make-up artist…so yeah.
Concealer: I don’t use too much concealer unless I have a zit that my foundation just won’t cover, but when I do need it, I have been using this Maybelline New York Dream Brightening Creamy Concealer, Light/Medium, 0.11 Ounce
. I use it in shade 10 Clair and it really helps! It’s also good for dark under eye circles.
Powder: Foundation and concealer always makes my face feel sticky, so to finish, I apply this Maybelline New York Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder Makeup, Translucent, 0.29 oz.
in shade 100 Translucent (LOL). It gives your face a finished look, and literally makes your face smooth. I will say that it does get used up rather quickly, but that’s okay. It does a really good job at creating a flawless finish.
Eye Shadow: I have pallets right now that I use, the Maybelline The City Kits All-in-One Eye & Cheek Palette, Urban Light, 0.42 oz.
. I usually use the “City Kits All-in-One” palette and then the other one for going out at night. Even during the fall and winter I use it since I don’t really care about matching my makeup shades with the season.
Eyeliner: I have been trying out a new eyeliner for the first time in about two years…maybe even longer. Check out this Revlon ColorStay Skinny Liquid Eyeliner, Black Out
. It is so easy to apply and you can create a thick or thin line with it…whatever your preference is! It also seems to last a long time, which in my book, is always a bonus!
Mascara: This is one of my favorite mascaras…ever. When it comes to mascara, I want two things…length and volume! This Maybelline New York Volum’ Express The Colossal Big Shot Washable Mascara, Blackest Black, 0.33 floz
does just that! It only takes a few swipes and BAM, beautiful, full lashes. It’s the perfect mascara.
Blush: I love this Maybelline Fit Me Blush, Rose, 0.16 fl. oz.
! It adds a very discreet pink to my cheeks, and even gives my face a little dimension. It’s perfect for any season and looks very natural.
Lip Colors: I can’t say I am a huge lipstick person, but once in a while, I do like to add a little color to my lips. So, when I am in the mood for it, I wear either the bareMinerals Gen Nude Buttercream Lip-Gloss, Sugar, 0.13 Fluid Ounce
. I tend to use the bareMinerals ones more because they look a but more natural for my comfort, but all threee are great!
One more thing…
As great as make-up is, using skin care items such as creams is also really important. One of the best things to start using while you are in your mid-20’s is eye cream! This can help the skin around your eyes look bright and fresh, especially as we get older.
It can be hard to figure out which cream is the best to use, so I would recommend checking out this article from Consumer Health Digest: https://www.consumerhealthdigest.com/eye-skin-care/top-rated-eye-creams.html for the best one for you! Be sure to check it out.
