So here’s the deal… I actually do love makeup, but I’m not one to own 20 different blush brushes. I’m the kind of person who would own, maybe two at most of everything. Part of the reason is that I just don’t care to have it, and another thing is that I am no make up expert.

However, I still thought that it would be fun to show you what I do use and explain why I love to use it. Some things I have been using for years and other things I switch up a lot.

One of the best pieces of advice I have ever heard about applying eye makeup is to apply it before you put on any face makeup. If you get eye make up on your face and need to wipe it off, you can do so without worrying about messing up your foundation and blush.

Brushes: I use these eye shadow brushes Real Techniques Cruelty Free Flawless Base Set, Synthetic Bristles Includes: Contour, Detailer, Buffing & Square Foundation Brushes and they are so helpful to use! The end of the brush has a nice black grip, providing easy and smooth control. There is a brush for your whole eye lid, for the crease, and for applying a line of eye shadow along your lids. Love it!

Colors: For my daytime look, I use the colors in the Maybelline New York Expert Wear Eyeshadow Palette, The Blushed Nudes 0.34 oz. I love how it gives me so many options for colors and provides so many combinations! I also feel like these colors would look great with every eye color and it definitely lasts all day. The palette has a perfect balance of light and dark colors and truly brings out the color of my eyes. For a nighttime look/smokey eye, I use the Maybelline The City Mini Palette Eyeshadow, 460 Shayla.

Primer: I do have a little secret with how my eye shadow stays on for so long. I use the bareMinerals Prime Time Eye Primer, Original, 0.1 Ounce. Keep in mind that this photo has the trial size and the link leads to the full size. It works really well though so I 100% percent recommend getting it.

Okay, so I am more of a Chapstick kind of girl, but I don’t mind a little bit of a nude (with a punch of pink) lip color. This applies nicely/doesn’t make a mess and isn’t too bold…which is important if you want a more conservative look. The ones by bareMinerals are shades bareMinerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lip Color, Boss, 0.13 Fluid Ounce and bareMinerals Gen Nude Buttercream Lip-Gloss, Sugar, 0.13 Fluid Ounce. These are also linked to the full size while the image has the mini.  And the Tarte one is Tarte Birthday Suit Creamy Matte Lip Mini 0.034 oz.

My favorite makeup item to wear is mascara. Sometimes I don’t even wear eye shadow and just do with the mascara and maybe the eyeliner. Usually I love to try out many different mascaras, but I seem to go back to this one so much because it really does give me volume in my lashes while being clump-free. The one I am using here is Maybelline New York Volume Express Mega Plush Washable Mascara, Blackest Black, 0.3 Fluid Ounce.

When it comes to eyeliner, I mix it up between doing both my upper and lower lash line or just doing my upper lash line. This is one product I have been using for years and it’s the Maybelline New York Define-A-Line Eyeliner, Ebony Black, 0.01 Ounce. I love twisty eyeliners over pencil because not only does it apply very smoothly, but I’m actually afraid of poking my eye with an eye pencil. I also don’t have to worry about sharpening it.

This is my routine just for my face. This actually is not considered a lot since I don’t do contouring and highlighting. I keep it pretty natural looking, just covering up blemishes and smoothing out my complexion.

Primer: I used to never use a primer, but my makeup wasn’t staying on my face all day long. However, I have been using this L’Oréal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream, Fair, 1 fl. oz. It truly works like magic. If you want to give it more time to settle in before applying everything else, it is okay to apply this before you apply your eye makeup.

Foundation: I have gone back and forth between different foundations, but I really love this one by CoverGirl:COVERGIRL Clean Matte Liquid Foundation Ivory 505, 1 oz. The one linked is to the matte version since the one in the photo did not come up. I have no doubt it is fabulous!

Cover up: Cover up is my best friend. That’s why it is so important that I have a really good one because it is hard for me to really get my acne covered up. I have been using this one for about a month now and I am really enjoying it and will probably continue to use it. It is Maybelline Fit Me! Shine-Free + Balance Stick Foundation Pure Beige 235. My personal shade is Ivory. Also, I know this says it is a foundation but I use it as a cover up and it works just fine!

Powder: To seal everything up, I use my favorite: L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Powder, Light Ivory, 0.33 oz. I have rarely used anything else because it works so well and the shade it absolutely perfect for my face! This helps to totally keep everything blended in well and also takes away the stickiness that the foundation and cover up can leave behind. I promise you cannot go wrong with this.

Okay, here are my last two makeup items! So, I usually go easy on the blush since I used to go overboard and that didn’t look too good. #oops.

Blush: I use SEPHORA COLLECTION Colorful Face Powders – 02 So Shy 0.12 oz/ 3.5 g which I got for free originally and have fallen in love with! I do need to add a bit more than one normally would for it to really show up, but other than that, I love it.

Blush Brush: This has become my favorite blush brush! It is the Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman, Blush Brush, Finish, 1 Brush – 2pc. I love how it applies blush and it doesn’t make me break out!
