Fall Beauty Review: Skin Care and Hair

Skin and hair, two things that I have to focus on the most when it comes to self-care. Unfortunately, they’re not exactly the easiest to manage.

My oily skin makes me break out like crazy sometimes. My hair can have a mind of its own. Plus the time of year can make a huge difference. I have a few days in a row when my hair and skin are soft and glowing. Other times, I feel like I need more make up and a hair stylist.

The struggle in real.

If you have been following me for a while, you know that trying different skin care products is a huge weakness of mine. I’m also pretty strict about the shampoo/conditioner system that I use.

So, without further adieu, here is my latest review on skin and hair care products.

Here and there I have talked about this skin care brand, because I am totally obsessed with Biore. The baking soda cleaning scrub I got through PINCHme is one of the best things I have ever tried. I am loving it! When you use it, you just need your hand to be wet, but you don’t even need a dime amount’s worth of water. Just make sure your hand isn’t totally dry. The power quickly becomes gel-like once you rub your hands together and it feels so good to massage on your face.

The other two honestly work equally as well, but charcoal a little bit “tougher” in comparison. The charcoal one is really good for when you have stubborn acne just chillin like a villain on your face (acne is actually a villain…sooo). If your acne isn’t terrible, the other baking soda one is good.

Lexie Tip: Use these products while taking a shower. The heat/steam opens up your pores.

Next up are my two fall body washes from Bath and Body Works. I’m already excited to buy the ones from the Christmas collection.

These smell so good and believe it or not, a little goes a long way with them. Just a small quirt on a loofah and you are good to go! The bottle actually lasts for a full month. Also, it makes my skin nice and soft.

The olive oil leave-in hair lotion I have been using for years, but I realized I have never really talked about it before. I haven’t always used the same brand, but this one is from ORS. Technically, it’s classified as an ethnic hair care product, and my hair isn’t exactly in that category,  but I use it anyway. I apply a small amount to the ends of my hair after my shower, and it makes my hair less brittle. You can find similar products in the ethnic hair care section.

I’ve been searching for the best peel off face masks and this one from Yes to Tomatoes did not disappoint.

Lexie Tip: Layer it on since it is easier to peel off when there’s a thick amount on your face. Although, the thicker it is, the longer it takes to dry…but it’s worth it!

What I like about this is that it has a built-in spatula to help spread the mask all over your face. This way, you don’t really need to use your hands to spread it all over your face. Does that take the fun out of it?

I never thought I could be so obsessed with a shampoo/conditioner, but this proved me wrong! Can I also mention the fact that I got these bottles back in July maybe…and they still have a decent amount of product left? They’re both 25 fl oz. Also, they were about $4.00-$5.00 each from what I remember.

Seriously, probably one of the best purchases ever.

The directions say to massage the shampoo into the roots of your hair, and actually, it’s really good advice.

This stuff is seriously magical. And like everything else, a little goes a long way. Lather it up with a quarter size amount and you are good to go! I’m a new TRESemme fan!
