Summer Skin Reviews

It’s that time of year again! Time for our faces to get splashed with sea water and sand and for the oil build-up on our faces to double.

Not cute.

It is so important to keep our skin healthy during the summer time. While the winter has harsh effects on our skin, the summer does as well. Our skin can get burnt from the sun, dried out from the heat, or get super oily depending on the temperature and the day’s activities.

Aside from applying sunscreen, pampering your skin with face masks and body scrubs helps to keep your skin baby-soft and smooth! Plus, it can help to keep the acne away… something that can happen a lot in the summer because of how much we sweat!

I got a different brand of oil wipes for my birthday that I would love to compare to the Clean&Clear one that I usually use.

I was also lucky enough to be sent a sample of a body scrub and avocado mask from Perfectly Posh to try and will give my thoughts.

Let’s get started!

I was really fortunate to have the opportunity to test out these products from Perfectly Post! They were so fun to use and I definitely felt like I was using spa products. Plus, they both smelled really good and I am almost positive that they are vegan products… but don’t quote me on that.

I used this body scrub last night after shaving. That was over 24 hours ago and I have showered again since.

Let me say this… my skin is still feeling just as soft as the first time I used it. After shaving, I applied the whole packet…everywhere! My arms, legs, elbows, knees, and feet got the dead skin washed away. It also left my skin feeling silky smooth! I loved the feeling of the little beads against my skin since it definitely gave me a massage-type feeling. I also have not applied any lotion to my skin whatsoever. This body scrub kept my skin hydrated!

I also smelled really good 😉

Here is the face mask that I had the pleasure of testing and it truly was “All I’ve Avo Wanted.”

I’ve never really used avocado-based products before. My current obsession has been cucumber and strawberry face masks, but this one left my skin feeling even softer!

All you need to do is wash your face and then apply a thin layer of it on your face (being careful of the eyes and mouth area). Let it dry for about 5-10 minutes and then rinse it off. That’s it! It’s really that simple.

I also felt comforted that everything in the mask is healthy for my skin! Sometimes skin care products can have harsh chemicals in it, but as far as I know, this one is good to go!

If you have been following my blog for a few months, you might have seen my review on the Clean&Clear oil blotting sheets.

Well, I received the Beauty Concepts (b.c.) oil sheets for my birthday and was so excited to use it, but ended up a little bit disappointed.

First off these sheets are made of two ingredients: flax pulp and wood pulp. Now, I’m not sure what those are to be quite honest with you, but these oil sheets rip so quickly, it’s not even funny! The other issue that I have with them is that it takes about 4 sheets, at least, to get the oil off of my skin. Even then, my face still feels a tad sticky.

With the Clean&Clear, the only thing that makes me sad is the mineral oil which I learned is very bad for your skin. However, I am able to remove all of the oil with just one sheet. It is also very difficult for these to break/rip and I discovered they stretch so you can continue to use up most of the sheet!

So despite the mineral oil, I would definitely recommend the Clean&Clear oil wipes over the ones by b.c.

I hope this helps!

(DISCLAIMER: I was not paid to review any of these products, however, the face mask and body scrub were free samples sent to me for an honest review.)
