I hate eating healthy.
I’m not kidding.
My taste buds are constantly awaiting the taste of sweets and sugar.
But if we are honest, we know that we need to care about what we put into our body if we want to feel and function better. It’s like a car…if you don’t use the right parts, it probably won’t run smoothly.
I am also willing to admit that I am the pickiest eater out there. However, that’s still no excuse for feeding my body fattening food.
I came across this post via Pinterest from “Thriving on Plants” and saw something that I do like… fruit!
In a recent, post, I talked about the struggle of not sticking to your New Year’s resolution. One of mine was to eat healthier, and this toast recipe just might do the trick!
I decided to go with apples and peanut butter, banana and Nutella (although I used a knock-off brand), and strawberries with an apricot jam.
My favorite was definitely the banana with Nutella, although the strawberry and apricot did satisfy my sweet tooth. The apple and peanut butter took me back to elementary school– such as classic afternoon snack!
The great thing about this concept is that you can top your toast with anything! Put cream cheese or jelly, even a cheese spread if you want and top it with your favorite fruit. If you want, topping your toast with a vegetable is an option; be as creative as you can!
Making this takes about five minutes, and I’m sure eating it takes even less. If you want a little side dish, consider yogurt. However, if you’re like me and have a tiny appetite in the morning, this will most likely fill you up!
